This is another place which features from time to time in our letters and stories.
If you are looking for further ideas for what to tell your children about this magical part of Fairyland, we suggest the following:
Long Lake is where magical folk go to take a relaxing weekend break or a even summer holiday. It's particularly popular with gnomes, who simply adore fishing! They have to be careful about what they catch though, because rumour has it that there are some very strange creatures living in the lake.
As you might have noticed from our Map of Fairland, Long Lake is a long stretch of water which sits below the Mount Cloudy mountain range. It is fed by cold mountain streams so the water is pretty icy, but many fairy folk go bathing there just the same. Fortunately, the monsters in the lake are friendly and would never dream of trying to gobble up anyone going for a swim!
