Hello and welcome to a post where we’ve added together all our best messages from the Easter Bunny.  (If you’re Australian you might want our Easter Bilby resources instead.)  Whether notes, letters or certificates, we bet your little one would love to hear from the most magical rabbit in the world this year.

Along with the little messages and certificates above, one of our favourite Easter resources is this full-length letter from the Easter Bunny.  It’s a lovely thing for a child to find with the eggs on Easter Morning… adds a sprinkle of magic to the this holiday occasion.

Hello lovely visitors!  For a bit of extra fun we’ve published an Easter Issue of our newspaper form Fairyland, The Midnight Messenger, and made it free for you to download.  It can be read by your children at any time in the run up to Easter.

The Midnight Messenger is the newspaper which gets delivered all around the magical world – read by everyone from Santa and his elves to the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and every other magical personality you can think of.  And this month, your child can read it too!

We’ve uploaded it as a PDF.  Just click here or on the picture below to download or view it.  It’s completely free.  We hope it makes you and your little ones smile.

Note from the Easter Bunny to go with this issue
This is a handwritten note from the Easter Bunny which has been written to go with out fairy newspaper, The Midnight Messenger. The idea is that you print out both before Easter.

If you have decided to leave a copy of the Midnight Messenger (above) somewhere for your child to find before Easter, you might like to put this note from the Easter Bunny with it, so that they know what it is.

It also lets your child know how good he or she has been and that that makes the Easter Bunny very proud.

More About the Midnight Messenger:

For those of you after more information about our Fairyland newspaper, it was first put together in 2003 by L A Betts.  It was early days for our site and as we didn’t have many visitors back then, after a couple of years  we retired it.  However, it carried on being delivered every month to magical folk of course, and has often mentioned in our other creations, such as the Father Christmas letters.

The Midnight Messenger is normally in black and white, but special issues like the Easter one above, are in colour.  It regularly features news from well-known parts of the magical world, like Father Christmas’s house in the North Pole, and features many familiar characters such as Jack Frost, the Sandman and the Tooth Fairy.  But it also features new characters your child won’t have heard of, such as the Worrying Witch, the Fortune-Telling Toad and all sorts of goblins, fairies and elves.

It’s always hard to know what people want more of, but if we sense the Midnight Messenger is popular, we’ll consider adding further issues to our site.

If you’ve ever felt that you want to add a bit of verse to your Easter card to let that special someone know how much you care, then this post might help.  We often get asked for Easter poems for cards, so we’ve created a handful below.

Easter Picks

Ah spring.  (At least if, like us, you’re in the northern hemisphere.)  The lambs, the daffodils, the bluebells, the light.  Goodness, we’ve missed the light.  And of course, Easter around the corner.  It’s always a bit of rush in our house to get everything done, unlike Christmas, which seems to be hanging around from September onwards these days.  We always feel that Easer rather jumps out from around the proverbial corner – and a mad scramble for eggs, decorations and magical Easter Bunny printables is pretty much guaranteed.  Talking of which, our top picks for this year are below…

From the minute the Easter Holidays start it can be great fun to gather up some children and make the house look lovely.   The spring decorations we like most are below, though it’s also worth hunting around the internet for more such things, for as much as we’d love you to stay on this site forever, there are lots of other gorgeous decorative ideas out there.

Our Easter issue of our printable fairy newspaper, The Midnight Messenger is also available as a bit of free magic for your child.  It’s best read in the run-up to Easter and will let your child know all about what’s going in the Easter Bunny’s chocolate factory under the ground.

Easter Bunny Indoor Treasure Hunt

There’s nothing like an treasure hunt over the Easter holidays, especially on Easter Morning.  Here’s one from the Easter Bunny, with eight rhyming clues.  If you’ve got some small chocolates such as chocolate coins, mini eggs, or even just some small wrapped sweets, we suggest you make it eggstra exciting by putting one with each clue.  (Sorry, couldn’t resist the pun!)  Or, if you’re looking for a healthy, sugar-free option, you could try sticks of carrot – wrapped of course – you don’t want bits of fluff and dust sticking to them!

What the “treasure” is at the end of the hunt isn’t specified in our clues, so it’s up to you.  Easter eggs or other sweets are obviously the  most popular, but if you’re looking for other ideas, you could always try Easter crackers or cupcakes or any other treat you think your children might like.  If you’ve got a printer, you could always add our Good Egg Award from the Easter Bunny for the winner, too.

What You Need:

A printer for the clues of course, and some scissors to cut them out.  This is an indoor game and we have tried to make sure that the clues only include objects (such as a bag or a chair) that exist in any house.  You’ll also need some “treasure” to leave with the last clue.

More Easter Printables

We love Easter and that magical feeling of spring that comes with it, so we’re always adding to out Easter resources.  The ones which seem to be most popular so far are our Easter Bunny notes and letter, and our Easter Bunny certificates.  For those of you who are Australian, we also have some Easter Bilby printables.  They’re all free to print out for personal use.

With Easter around the corner, you might feel like brightening your home with some Easter decorations.  Ours are all free to print out and our favourites, new and old, can be found below.  They’re a great way of making Easter parties or meals more festive and a lots of fun for any creative kids who want to help you prepare.  We hope you have a magical Easter this year.

You might also enjoy crafting these Easter ornaments.  They look best stuck onto card, unless you’re going to print them onto card in the first place of course.  The nice thin about sticking them onto card though, is that you can put a picture on both sides.  You’ll also need something sharp like a skewer or a knitting needle to create the hole to thread the string through.

It may be early but with the shops already stocking up for Easter, we thought we’d post a quick collection of resources which you might find useful in the run up to that happy spring Sunday.  Oh – and in case you’re reading this and thinking to yourself, “When is Easter this year?  I must check! we’ve already googled it for you and it’s Sunday, April 16th.

To get back to the point, all the printables below are meant to help children get some fun out of preparing for Easter early, whether it’s through a reminder to be good between now and then from the Easter Bunny, or simply making a mountain of Easter paper chains!  We hope you find them useful.

Eggstraordinary! Beautiful and Unusual Easter Eggs

As we skip around the internet on our run-up-to-Easter coffee breaks, we can’t help noticing some weird and wonderful Easter eggs.  So we thought we’d share them with you.

Knitted Easter Eggs

There seem to be all sorts of knitted Easter eggs around (the picture below shows some from Poland) and when you think about it, they’re probably a great idea.  Sure, you could carefully create the gorgeous work-of-art type of knitted egg but you could also knit a more practical variety.  Soft, washable, and easy to pack away without breakage to use again next year.

Perforated Easter Eggs

These are just beautiful.  As if ordinary eggs weren’t fragile enough, these must be as delicate as you can get.

You can make you’re own – even if they’re not quite as elaborate as those above. Like everything else worth doing, it just takes practice and time.

So how do you make them? Surprisingly, we couldn’t find that many online guides but it’s quite well described on this blog – the pictures help too.  (Tip: You may need to use Google Translate if the text doesn’t display in English.)  The biggest hurdle is that you’ll need a handheld milling machine of some kind to make the holes in the eggshell.  If you’re an ardent crafter whose got one already though, just bleach and blow some eggs then perforate away.

Embroidered Easter Eggs

For anyone handy with a needle and thread, here’s another charming idea.  I’m fairy useless at embroidery but these make me wish I wasn’t.

Look carefully and you can see how these are done. Eggs are blown, bleached then embroidered with a needle and colourful thread – often embroidery silks.  If you’re a beginner it may be easier to use goose eggs rather than duck or chicken eggs, as they are bigger and their shell is less fragile.

Or rather, Easter eggs decorated with bits of straw.  Isn’t that clever?  And pretty too.

Fabergé Egg

Okay so you can’t craft this one, (or if you can you’re either a wizard or a genius), but we thought we’d mention it regardless.  After all, who can think of beautiful eggs without thinking House of Fabergé.  This one’s called the Winter Egg and in 1913 it was the most expensive Easter egg ever made.
