Quick Overview

In the past, this letter has proved a real favourite with boys, girls and grown-ups alike.

A bout of dragon-flu has broken out in Father Christmas' house and is playing havock with his attempt to get all the presents wrapped up on time.

Luckily, one of his fairy helpers and a friendly North Pole witch get together to make a cure. He writes to tell you how they manage it - and as usual, his sense of fun and storytelling style carries your imagination off to play in the ice, snow and magic of his home in the North Pole.

Details

Can you tell me more about what Father Christmas has written in this letter?

This tremendously popular "Before Christmas" letter has not been available for two or three years, but we've been asked to bring it back several times.  It's a gentle story which captures the fun and magic of Father Christmas' world with ease.

The trouble, of course, is dragon-flu.  The elves and fairies have all caught it, and given that it produces the most peculiar fiery sneezes, a cure is needed straight away!

Fortunately, Father Christmas' fairy chef is best friends with a witch - and together they attempt to cook up a remedy.  Nothing looks like it will work until Father Christmas stomps in out of the cold garden and inadvertently adds the missing ingredient - which saves the day.

Anything else it might be useful to know?

No, this letter is ideal for any child.  If you are writing a P.S. you might like to know that Father Christmas already says "well done for being good this year - keep it up!" in the body of this letter, so you don't need to add that.  Please note that Father Christmas' handwriting in this letter is slightly smaller than in some of our other letters.

What does the letter actually look like?

Much like the image above, but larger and clearer. Letters are a little bit smaller than A4 in size. They are all full colour and on the back is a decorative, Christmassy design. If you choose to add a personal PS to this letter, it will be done using a beautiful font of Father Christmas's curly handwriting. Upon creating these letters, what Father Christmas wanted was to make them look as magical as possible - and we believe he has done a good job.

  How is the letter packaged?

This letter is gently folded, tied with a ribbon, and placed in a colourful envelope bearing your child's name. The whole thing is then placed in a plain envelope for posting, addressed to a parent or guardian. This is so that if there are small eyes around when it arrives - it looks like an ordinary piece of mail. Tip: We suggest that you leave your child's before Christmas letter somewhere around your house for him or her to find. There's nothing like the look on a child's face when they think a letter has magically appeared!
