Quick Overview

Father Christmas has been out and about in the North Pole, visiting some rather unusual folk.

He goes round to Jack Frost's icy cottage, where he makes friends with a snowman and a polar bear, then drops in to pick up a bundle of sky maps from a goblin who lives on a rain cloud.

Always popular with younger children, the simple story in this letter is easy to follow and has been recommened by parents of children aged 4 and above.

Can you tell me more about what Father Christmas has written in this letter?

"My Magical Friends" is a letter which tells of Father Christmas' trip to visit some unusual friends.  Grabbing a lift on the Northern Witch's broomstick, he sets off to visit Jack Frost, to ask him if he'd like to come to Christmas lunch.  When he gets there, he finds that Jack is not alone, as this extract from the letter shows:

"When I got to Jack's house, I found him in his kitchen drinking ice cold tea with a snowman and a polar bear.  They were all very pleased to see me and I invited them for lunch too."

Next, Father Christmas sets off to pick up some special sky maps from a goblin who lives on a rain cloud.  In case you're womdering, he needs the maps to help him find his way to children's homes on Christmas Eve.

Before signing off, Father Christmas writes: "Remember to write your Christmas list for me (if you haven't already!) so that I know what presents you'd like me to bring.  I'm looking forward to coming round on Christmas Eve... but remember that when I do, you must be fast asleep."

Anything else it might be useful to know?

Well, this one does assume that the child receiving it will be spending Christmas in his or her own home.

There's nothing else we can think of, though it's more appropriate for a child who hasn't written his or her Christmas list yet.  (That last point's not absolutely vital however - and the letter would still work regardless.)

This letter also reminds the reader to be asleep when Father Christmas arrives, so you wouldn't need to add that in a P.S. or anything.

What does the letter actually look like?

Much like the image above, but larger and clearer. Letters are a little bit smaller than A4 in size. They are all full colour and on the back is a decorative, Christmassy design. If you choose to add a personal PS to this letter, it will be done using a beautiful font of Father Christmas's curly handwriting. Upon creating these letters, what Father Christmas wanted was to make them look as magical as possible - and we believe he has done a good job.

  How is the letter packaged?

This letter is gently folded, tied with a ribbon, and placed in a colourful envelope bearing your child's name. The whole thing is then placed in a plain envelope for posting, addressed to a parent or guardian. This is so that if there are small eyes around when it arrives - it looks like an ordinary piece of mail. Tip: We suggest that you leave your child's before Christmas letter somewhere around your house for him or her to find. There's nothing like the look on a child's face when they think a letter has magically appeared!
