What does Father Christmas write about in this letter?
"Last Minute Moles" is a magical 2 page letter to read on Christmas Morning. It is written as if Father Christmas is half way through delivering his gifts. Here is how the letter begins:
"I am on my way around the world delivering presents as usual and I've decided to stop at your house to have a little rest. While I'm here, I thought I'd take the time to scribble you this letter so that you can read it on Christmas Day when you open your presents. I'm glad to find you're sound asleep by the way, because my reindeer (who are just outside) won't land anywhere near a house when anyone's awake!"
With his cheerful, friendly tone, Father Christmas goes on to explain what a rush it's been trying to get all the presents onto his sleigh tonight - largely due to some unexpected guests. He and the elves were just about running on time, when a group of moles turned up from underground - very nearly destroying the presents as they clambered through the floor of Christmas House!
Apparently, the moles had been trying to set a new record by digging their way around the world, but had managed to get themselves lost.
This is a lovely letter for boys or girls and parents have told us that it often gets read over and over again.
Anything else it might be useful to know?
Yes, this letter assumes that your child is asleep in his or her own house on Christmas Eve. Also, Father Christmas' handwriting in this letter is a little smaller than usual, making it a longer read.
What does the letter actually look like?
This letter comprises of two full colour pages. They are a little bit smaller than A4. The backs of them are covered with a decorative, Christmassy design. The higgledy piggledy handwriting is quite a bit smaller than in some of our other letters, as Father Christmas has tried to fit a lot of detail in! If you choose to add a personal PS to this letter, it will be done using a beautiful font of Father Christmas's curly handwriting.
Upon creating these letters, what Father Christmas wanted was to make them look as magical as possible - and we believe he has done a good job.
How is the letter packaged?
This letter is gently folded, tied with a ribbon, and placed in a colourful envelope bearing your child's name. The whole thing is then placed in a plain envelope for posting, addressed to a parent or guardian. This is so that if there are small eyes around when it arrives - it looks like an ordinary piece of mail. Tip: Parents tell us that they like to leave Christmas Morning letters under the Christmas tree, as if Father Christmas has left it there with the presents.
