Product Description

Before Christmas Letter: Crack in the Ice

What does Father Christmas write about in this letter?

Soaking wet and shivering, Father Christmas scrawls this letter while trying to warm up. As we read, we discover that he was out collecting wood for the fire, when a foraging sea-monster reached up through a crack in the ice and tried to drag him down into the deeps! Luckily, one of the reindeer managed to snatch him out of danger.

What else would it be useful to know?

Even thought this letter contains a monster, it isn’t at all frightening and is definitely suitable for little ones. As Father Christmas eventually finds out, the sea-monster is quite friendly and didn’t mean anyone any harm.

Before signing off, Father Christmas writes, “…before I go, I must say well done for being so good. I’ve heard all about you from my elves and I’m looking forward to delivering your presents on Christmas Eve”, so you won’t need to add that yourself if you’re writing an extra P.S.

What’s all this about adding a P.S.?

If you like, you can add a short P. S. to this letter. It’s your chance to play Santa!

Customers usually add something personal which is just for that child. Some examples from other parents are: “Well done for that brilliant story you wrote for your teacher. You’re so good with words – it’s quite a talent!” or “Give your brother a hug from me and tell your cat my reindeer are looking forward to a chat with him on Christmas Eve!” You get the idea.

We will place the P. S. on the bottom of the letter, using a font of Father Christmas’s curly handwriting. Please note that while we try our best to be vigilant, we cannot guarantee that we will spot any typos or spelling errors you may make.

Adding your own P.S. is entirely optional – the letters look just as pretty without.

We do not charge extra for this service.

How is the letter packaged?

This letter is gently folded, tied with a ribbon, and placed in a colourful envelope bearing your child’s name. The whole thing is then placed in a plain envelope for posting, addressed to a parent or guardian. This is so that if there are small eyes around when it arrives – it looks like an ordinary piece of mail. Tip: We suggest that you leave your child’s before Christmas letter somewhere around your house for him or her to find. There’s nothing like the look on a child’s face when they think a letter has magically appeared!

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is free within the UK. Recorded delivery is available for an extra charge. Delivery costs to other countries are variable, depending on the weight of your order and where you live. You will be able to see any shipping charges in your cart before you pay.

    :

I used to buy these letters years ago and we’ve still got them all. My two are too old *sigh* for new ones but I am gonna get this for a friend’s because I remember it going down well, esp because the sea monster turns out to be nice, which is what you want at Christmas. What I like about all these letters is there’s so much new stuff about Santa. Thanks for all the happy memories and magic!
