DescriptionChristmas Morning Letter: Just Outside Your House
What does Father Christmas write about in this letter?
“Just Outside Your House” kicks off with Father Christmas explaining that he has already been inside to deliver the gifts. He writes: “I’ve already been in to leave you your presents and I was pleased to see that you were fast asleep, because my reindeer can tell if children are awake and they get very nervous and want to fly away!”
He then goes on to tell your child a bit about his life in the North Pole. You’ll get to hear about his friend the North Wind, why he called one of his reindeer “Blitzen” and all about his favourite fairy cook, who at this moment is back at the North Pole, busily preparing Christmas dinner for all the helpers. Father Christmas is very much looking forward to it, because when he left home earlier this evening, the house was already full of delicious smells!
The letter ends because Father Christmas and his reindeer must take off again and deliver some more gifts, but before he goes he writes: “Enjoy all your presents and give my love to your family and friends!”
In short, this letter is less like a story and more like chatty, jovial news from an old friend.
What else would it be useful to know?
- This letter is written in quite spidery, higgledy-piggledy handwriting, so while young children should enjoy the content, they’ll need an adult or older sibling to read it out.
- It is written as though Father Christmas is outside the recipient’s house, so it would not be a good choice for a child who is spending Christmas away from home.
- While this letter is suitable for any boy and girl, we think it’s particularly good for youngish children. It is also a popular choice with parents who have not had a letter from us before.
What’s all this about adding a P.S.?
If you like, you can add a short P. S. to this letter. It’s your chance to play Santa!
Customers usually add something personal which is just for that child. Some examples from other parents are: “Well done for that brilliant story you wrote for your teacher. You’re so good with words – it’s quite a talent!” or “Give your Mummy a hug from me and tell your Daddy my reindeer could hear him snoring all the way down the street!” You get the idea.
We will place the P. S. on the bottom of the letter, using a font of Father Christmas’s curly handwriting. Please note that while we try our best to be vigilant, we cannot guarantee that we will spot any typos or spelling errors you may make.
Adding your own P.S. is entirely optional – the letters look just as pretty without.
We do not charge extra for this service.
How is the letter packaged?
This letter is gently folded, tied with a ribbon, and placed in a colourful envelope bearing your child’s name. The whole thing is then placed in a plain envelope for posting, addressed to a parent or guardian. This is so that if there are small eyes around when it arrives, it looks like an ordinary piece of mail. Tip: Parents tell us that they like to leave Christmas Morning letters under the Christmas tree, as if Father Christmas has left it there with the presents.
