Dragon Flu

A bout of dragon-flu has broken out in Father Christmas’ house and is playing havoc with his attempt to get all the presents wrapped up on time.

Luckily, one of his fairy helpers and a friendly North Pole witch get together to make a cure.  He writes to tell you how they manage it – and as usual, his sense of fun and storytelling style carries your imagination off to play in the ice, snow and magic of his home in the North Pole.

Before Christmas Letter: Dragon Flu

What does Father Christmas write about in this letter?

The trouble here is dragon-flu! Yes, in midst of the crazy rush to wrap up all the presents, an unusual magical malady has broken out. The elves and fairies have all caught it, and given that it produces the most peculiar fiery sneezes, a cure is needed straight away.

Fortunately, Father Christmas’ fairy cook is best friends with a witch – and together they attempt to cook up a remedy. Nothing looks like it will work until Father Christmas inadvertently adds the missing ingredient, saving the day.

What else would it be useful to know?

In the past, this letter has proved a favourite with boys, girls and grown-ups alike.

If you are writing a P.S. you might like to know that Father Christmas already says, “well done for being good this year – keep it up!” in the body of this letter, so you don’t need to add that.

Please note that Father Christmas’ handwriting in this letter is slightly smaller than in some of our other letters.

AGE RANGE ADVICE: This really is a letter for everyone and customers have told us it has been enjoyed by children as young as 4.  We at Rooftop Post would probably give it to children of 5 and up – but everyone’s children are different of course!

What’s all this about adding a P.S.?

If you like, you can add a short P. S. to this letter. It’s your chance to play Santa!

Customers usually add something personal which is just for that child. Some examples from other parents are: “Well done for that brilliant story you wrote for your teacher. You’re so good with words – it’s quite a talent!” or “Give your brother a hug from me and tell your cat my reindeer are looking forward to a chat with him on Christmas Eve!” You get the idea.

We will place the P. S. on the bottom of the letter, using a font of Father Christmas’s curly handwriting. Please note that while we try our best to be vigilant, we cannot guarantee that we will spot any typos or spelling errors you may make.

Adding your own P.S. is entirely optional – the letters look just as pretty without.

We do not charge extra for this service.

How is the letter packaged?

This letter is gently folded, tied with a ribbon, and placed in a colourful envelope bearing your child’s name. The whole thing is then placed in a plain envelope for posting, addressed to a parent or guardian. This is so that if there are small eyes around when it arrives – it looks like an ordinary piece of mail. Tip: We suggest that you leave your child’s before Christmas letter somewhere around your house for him or her to find. There’s nothing like the look on a child’s face when they think a letter has magically appeared!
