“Laguz” – Viking rune for the letter L

This rune letter is pronounced the same as “L” is in English. It means “leek”, which was considered to be a very important healing herb by the Vikings. It therefore symbolises protection and the ability to shield oneself from the poisons of others. It is also thought to mean water (as in a lake) and occasionally, fertility.
